In which I compare getting old

November 16, 2008 by Vladimir Leave a Comment

GOOD NEWS! We are living longer.

Advances in nutrition, health care, and owner nurturing are moving our life expectancy from 3 to 8 years in 1930 to a long 15 to 17 years now. Some of us crack it through into our 20s as well.

The Photo is of Mischief, the world’s oldest cat. They say he’s 27!

Have a look at the pet food industry now with all that food for senior cats

But still humans can mix up our age with that of dogs. For fear of belabouring this point, I will not tell you, once again, that cats are not dogs, as I am assuming that by now you have learned this. Most of you at any rate.

To refresh your memory I include this handy chart for comparison

Cat Years Human Age Equivalent
1 15
2 24

4 32
5 36
6 40
7 44

17 84
18 88
19 92
20 96
