Little cakes and sandwiches appear on trays.
But all those rose petal teacups and pretty pink plates look like something out of the 1930s to me. I wish these tea afternoons would be presented with cat-themed crockery and napkins. Let’s face it, feline is fashion.
My Best Picks for Afternoon Tea
From elegant teapots to one-cup combinations, you have the choice of the best from the Feline Fashionista.
(I don’t recommend a giant teacup and saucer, nor do I endorse the habit of sitting in teacups)
For when you want the very best. And isn’t that all the time?
You don’t have to stop at the teapot. Mugs and Coasters share this elegant catty design.
Sip your cuppa from one of these lovely mugs. How can you go wrong with a black cat design?

The Contemporary Cat
A conversational piece. Set the tongues wagging when you serve with big, bold colours from Britto.
For when you’re putting on the Ritz, go for the absolutely classy Romero Britto artwork. If you don’t strive for elegance, where will you be? You may end up behaving like a pooch.
In the Olden Days
Back in my youth I didn’t see many teacups.
Twenty years ago the woman who feeds me would sit out the back with her rowdy friends, all of them singing rebel songs and consuming beverages of an alcoholic nature. These days, the friends drop in with cupcakes, and sing their songs over a pavlova instead of a pint.
How are the mighty fallen.
