Poor old Chaka has gone to the Rainbow Bridge.
A resident of Melbourne Zoo, he was euthanised at the start of December when no more could be done for his age-related disease of the nervous system, specifically the brain, spinal column, and the major nerves to the rear half of the body.
Chaka was an elderly lion (as lions go) he would have been 16 early in the New Year. His brother, Zuri, suffered from the same disease and passed in September. Now there’s only one of the brothers left.

Here’s the three of them together but, sorry, I don’t know which is which. I find that lions look a lot like each other but that could be because I don’t peer too closely for fear of offending a big cat. A BIG cat!
