Billy, a particularly expensive Burmese, went missing in 2004.
I don’t know how big Liverpool in England is, but his person, Carol Rogers. went overboard scouring the place, putting up posters, advertising in newspapers and radio and contacting every vet and animal centre for miles around. She even offered a large reward.
However she finally had to bite the bullet and accept that Billy was gone.
Happy ending
Would you believe this story has a happy ending? Billy turned up at a Stray Cat Shelter quite close to where Carol Rogers lives and his microchip revealed his identity.
Where has Billy been for the last seven years?
I’m wondering if Billy had his nip ‘n’ tuck like me or if he didn’t! Was he kidnapped and used as some sort of sex slave?
Did he run away to sea? (Sometimes I want to)
Where do you think he was?
This is awful! Did someone have a kitteh farm?
I think he went to Burma for a holiday and got lost! He is gorgeous though and I’m glad he got back home.
I had the same thing happen to my Burmese girl. She was gone for 2 years and then one day I recieved a call from a vet in a neighbouring suburb telling me that he has my cat. Was I happy to hear she was still with us. So off to the vet I went t collect her. She was looking very healthy and well looked after apart from her teeth wich had very bad decay. The vet informed me that she was braught in by a family to have her teeth fixed and her vaccinations. But when they mentioned that she was originally a stray he checked for a micro chip and found one, hence the contact with me. We loved “Pickles” very much and missed her so much so we decided to take her back home again. By this stage we had just purchased another Burmese kitten who was just 16 weeks old. Unfortunately Pickes did not take to the change and became incredibly stressed. she would not eat, drink or litter. This was a massive concern so I rang the vet again and asked to be put in contact with the people who took her to the vet. After a long converstation with them my decision was made, and as a family we agreed that Pickles would be returned to them. The lady and her daughter had looked after her beautifully and agreed to continue to do so. I am so happy to know that she is well cared for and loved just as much as we loved her.
